CastAway Farmhouse is a 1920's family home, now expanded, renovated, and updated with modern conveniences. It is the perfect place to "get away from it all" in a relaxed country setting. It makes a great vacation retreat on its own. But with the addition of access to the South Holston tailwater, you've got a trout fisherman's (and fisherwoman's!) dream.
The Story...
My family called this house home from the mid 1970's until 1992. I grew up here (I was 7 when we moved in), and I
stayed for some time after my parents built a new home. Eventually, my wife and I built our current home, and so
by the Fall of 1999 the farmhouse had not been lived in for about 4 years. At this point we decided to renovate it in hopes
of renting it on a weekend/weekly basis.
Of course anything worth doing is worth doing right, so we put much more time, energy (and money) into the ol' farmhouse than we had originally planned. In fact, if I'd known how nice it would turn out, I might not have moved! But seriously, we are very proud of the Farmhouse, and we will make every effort to ensure that you are completely satisfied with your stay.
